Nagendra Karri was born in India to Sujatha Karri,and Srinivas Rao Karri, Lt Colonel Infantry Indian Army. His schooling was at the Tiny Tots Public School, Vizag, India. He graduated with Bachelors in Computer Science & Engineering from JNTU, Andhra Pradesh. At 20, Karri landed in United States of America to pursue higher studies.
